The Development Squad was steered off the training ground to take part in a 'safe driving' workshop.
The course was put on show by UK Risk Solutions Ltd and all members of the U23 squad attended.
The players learnt about every aspect of driving, from alcohol/drug driving, speeding, awareness and safety in a car.
Tony Ruth from UK Risk Solutions Ltd said: “Across the UK and the world, there are personnel from various different industries that are involved in road-related incidents, the sporting industry is no different.
“There isn’t a higher rate involved simply because a professional football player is involved, it merely looks that way due to social media and general interest from the public.
“Would a postman being involved in a collision or getting a speeding ticket make the press? probably not, however, as anything in life, there is always room for improvement.
“The Premier League have identified driving as one area that can be supported.
“As such, they have been working with UK Risk Solutions Ltd to reduce the number of avoidable incidents, as a part of their well-being and development project."
The four-hour workshop took place in the academy class room at the Barnfield Training Centre.
With many different activities across the afternoon, to help brush up on driving ability and safer driving techniques.
Ruth said: “The players that attended were enthusiastic and willing to brush up on the driving ability as well as take on a few advanced driving techniques to help prevent incidents in the future.
“Will Harris achieved the Safe Driver trophy on the day, and the feedback was that whilst it was hard work, it was well worth the effort.
“We definitely look forward to returning soon”.
