The U18s secured their third consecutive win in all competitions, with a 3-1 victory over Birmingham City.
The side, currently being led by assistant manager John Townson due to Danny Cadamarteri’s departure, put an end to City’s four-match winning streak.
Kai Smith put the Clarets ahead, before an own goal doubled Burnley’s advantage.
Matty O’Neil added a third in the second-half, before the home side pulled one back late on.
Burnley started brightly, as Mitch George forced the Birmingham keeper’ into action early on.
Minutes later, the Clarets took the lead, as George teed up Smith inside the box to finish.
With 30 minutes played, Townson’s side had a second, as Kian Yari’s cross was turned in by a City defender for an own goal.
Early into the second half, the visitors added a third, as O’Neil (below) finished off a good move from down the right side of the pitch.
The home side then pulled one back with 20 minutes to go.
However, after a shifting into a back five to hold out the Midlands’ side pressure, Burnley held on and ensured they left with all three points.
The young Clarets are next in action on Saturday 13th October away to Nottingham Forest, 12:00pm kick off.
