Steve Stone’s U23 side travels to Birmingham City on Saturday with top spot in the Professional Development League in their sights.
The Clarets - who are to set have returning defender Ben Gibson in their ranks - are in fine form and will go above Bolton to lead the northern section if they can secure a sixth win in seven league games.
Burnley haven’t lost in the league since September and extended a six-match unbeaten run in the competition with a 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest on Monday in Stone's first game in charge.
Birmingham have won two of their last three league games, including a 3-0 win over Leeds United last time out, and currently sit fourth in the table.
When the two sides met last season, a 2-2 draw in Birmingham saw the sides share the spoils, with City running out 5-0 winners in the reverse fixture at the Barnfield Training Centre.
Kick-off at Birmingham's Trillion Trophy training centre is at 2pm.
A report and reaction will be online post-match.
