The Clarets matchday programme is celebrating another success after being named as the overall Programme of the year.
The respected Northern Programme Club voted Turf ‘Overall Best Programme’ in a national competition.
The club’s media team beat off strong competition from Arsenal (2nd), Everton (3rd) Tottenham Hotspur (4th) and Newcastle United (5th) to land the award.
And in a double celebration, Turf was also voted joint-top in the ‘Best Design’ category, along with Chelsea.
Editor Darren Bentley said: “It’s a great thrill for us to receive yet another award for our matchday programme, following on from previous national awards in 2009, 2012 and 2015.
“Turf is something of a rarity in the programme world these days, in that it’s written and edited entirely in-house, with our club journalist Pete Oliver joined by a fantastic team of contributors, including Phil Bird, Ray Simpson, Wallace Chadwick, Stan Gate and our regular Talking Football columnists.
“I’m also delighted that the look of the programme has been recognised, as Adam Riding constantly provides stunning design work, aided by his right-hand man Simon Marshall, to complement the writing.
“I must also thank our photographers, Andy Ford, Phill Heywood and Steve Lockyer, and print partners, B&D Print Services, who have been a key part of our success in recent years.
"Together, it all adds up to a winning team that, I feel, provides a quality product we are very proud of.”
