Jeff Hendrick and Kevin Long are both included in the Republic of Ireland’s provisional squad for a friendly in Turkey next month.
Clarets team-mate Stephen Ward – who is one cap away from a half-century - is not selected for the fixture in Antalya as manager Martin O’Neill takes the opportunity to look at some younger players.
Fellow Burnley boys Robbie Brady and Jon Walters are not included in the 30-man party due to injury.
Midfielder Hendrick could win his 37th cap and centre-back Long his fifth as Ireland look to build towards their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign and the new Uefa Nations League.
They also play friendlies against France and the United States before the end of the season.
