It’s exactly a month since the Clarets brought down the curtain on the most successful season in the club’s recent history.
But from tomorrow (Thursday) it’s full steam ahead for the 2018/19 campaign as the new Premier League fixtures are released.
Supporters will be able to see the Clarets’ fixture list on the club’s official website from 9am and start plotting their plans for the new campaign.
The Premier League season gets under way on Saturday, 11 August, although Sean Dyche’s men will hope their big kick-off is delayed 24 hours.
If the Clarets get through the opening round of their Europa League campaign, the first leg of the third qualifying round is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 9 August – which would mean moving the opening Premier League game back by at least a day.
Last season's league placing was the highest since 1974
Any changes to league fixtures for television coverage will be announced at a later date, while the Premier League’s first mid-winter break will kick in for the 2019/20 season, when each club will have a blank weekend in February.
The first round of the Carabao Cup will be drawn on Friday morning but Burnley’s involvement in Europe earns them a bye into the third round, which is scheduled to be played in the week commencing 24 September.
The Clarets’ first competitive fixture in the 2018/19 season will be their second qualifying round first-leg tie in the Europa League on Thursday, 26 July, after last season’s seventh-place finish in the Premier League took the club back into Europe for the first time in 51 years.
Burnley – one of 27 teams to enter at the second qualifying round stage – will find out their potential opponents when the first and second qualifying round draws are made in Switzerland at mid-day on 20 June.
