VACANCY: Part-Time and Volunteer Academy Scouts

Burnley FC Academy are looking for spotters and scouts to join our Academy Talent Identification & Recruitment department.

There are both part-time, paid and voluntary roles available depending on experience and time available.  

Successful applicants will help with the identification and recruitment of players aged 6 to 15 years in Lancashire and West Yorkshire.  Hours are flexible but generally over the weekend and evenings.  The successful candidates will also be required to attend some monthly recruitment nights at the Burnley FC, Barnfield Training Ground.  

All successful applicants will receive an induction night on the clubs recruitment philosophy and strategy, regular in-house training, a place on The FA’s Talent ID Level 2  and a full enhanced DBS check.  They will also have access to the club’s bonus scheme whether they are a voluntary spotter or scout for successful finds.

FA Level 1 in Talent ID Course (this is free and online)

Reliable with excellent personal and communication skills

Commitment to scouting and finding the best players in their area

A good understanding of local grassroots football in Lancashire

Desirable

FA Safeguarding Certificate (providing proof of certification)

Desirable

An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken, and you would be required to attend in-house safeguarding courses at the Academy.
