The Clarets’ Development Squad continues its pre-season build-up tonight (Wednesday) with a trip to Stalybridge Celtic for their second friendly.
With Michael Duff still currently working with the first team and Andy Farrell on the injured list, Head of Academy recruitment Nicky Law and Academy manager Jonathan Pepper will again lead the side at Bower Fold (kick-off 7.45pm).
The under-23s will be looking to kick on following an opening 2-1 loss at Colne last weekend as they build towards a second season in the Premier League’s Professional Development League.
Stalybridge also tasted defeat in their opening friendly, losing 3-0 at home to side Rochdale at the weekend.
The Evo-Stik Premier Division side is re-building over the summer under new boss Simon Haworth.
The former Cardiff City, Wigan and Wales striker has made a raft of new signings since moving to Bower Fold from Clitheroe, where the 41-year-old spent two years in charge of the Blues.
Admission charges tonight are: £7 adults, £4 concessions and £1 for under-16s accompanied by an adult.
Meanwhile, the Clarets' youth team is also in action tonight with a visit to Harrogate Town to face the National League's club's under-19 side.
Kick-off at the CNG Stadium is 7.30pm with admission £2.
