Development squad striker Khius Metz has joined Lancashire neighbours Chorley on loan.
The 20-year-old will spend the rest of the season with the Magpies, who are currently 10th in the National League North and play second-placed Harrogate Town on Saturday.
Metz moves to Victory Park for the chance of senior first-team football after a previous spell out on loan at Altrincham, which was cut short by injury.
The Republic of Ireland under-19 international completed a two-year scholarship with the Clarets and then after missing much of last season through injury, had his professional contract extended into the current campaign.
Chorley manager Matt Jansen told his club's website: “I’m delighted to welcome Khius to our club and he comes highly recommended.
"His biggest strength is obviously pace and goals will be key for us as we head towards the end of the season, so bolstering our striking options is vital.
"It’ll also be good for him to play against varied opposition in the National League North and show what he can do.”
Metz becomes the second development squad player to move out on a temporary basis since the January transfer window opened following Jimmy Dunne's move to Accrington Stanley.
