The Clarets’ youth team will be looking to avenge their heaviest defeat of the season and stay top of the table when they take on Crewe Alexandra at Barnfield on Saturday morning (kick-off 11am).
Burnley were beaten 5-1 at Crewe at the start of November to cap a run of four straight losses.
However, Danny Cadamarteri’s side is unbeaten in six league games since then, with a burst of five wins and last weekend’s draw with title rivals Huddersfield Town taking them to the top of the U18 Professional Development League’s northern division.
Crewe hadn’t won a league game since beating the Clarets until a 2-1 victory over Barnsley a fortnight ago and are bottom of the table.
Meanwhile, the under-18s have new dates for three fixtures which were postponed in December.
The Clarets will play Sheffield Wednesday at the Owls’ Middlewood training ground on Tuesday, 6 March (kick-off 12noon).
Burnley are then away to Hull City at Bishop Burton College on Tuesday, 20 March (KO 1pm) and go to Barnsley and their Oakwell training ground on Saturday, 31 March (KO 11am).
Meanwhile, the Clarets have been drawn at home to Wigan Athletic in the semi-finals of the Lancashire FA Professional Youth Cup, with the tie taking place at the Barnfield Training Centre on Tuesday, 27 February.
