Will you sleep out at Turf Moor for charity?

21 August 2018

Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) is urging business leaders and Burnley FC fans from across the region to commit to sleeping out in the Turf Moor stadium for one night as part of the charity’s first ever Turf Sleepout fundraising event.

Taking place on Friday, 12th October, the Turf Sleepout will ask those taking part to give up the comfort of their own bed for the night and commit to raising a minimum of £250 to be split three ways between Burnley FC in the Community, homelessness charity Emmaus and SafeNet Domestic Abuse Service for Jane’s Place Women’s Refuge.

All funds will come to Burnley FC in the Community in the first instance, with Burnley FC in the Community then handling the process of the three-way split.

Already signed up to the event is: Neil Hart CEO of Burnley FC in the Community, Helen Gauder Managing Director of SafeNet, Stephen Buchanan Director of Emmaus Burnley and Emmaus Preston and Anthony Fairclough Commercial Director at Burnley FC. Also on board are business leaders from VEKA, Spencer Hayes Group, Thorne Access and Security plus many more.

Burnley FC in the Community is the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club. The mission of the charity is to inspire, support and deliver change to communities across East Lancashire and West Yorkshire.

Emmaus Burnley provides accommodation, support and work based training and volunteering for up to 30 formerly homeless people.

Jane’s Place is a Complex Needs Recovery Refuge established in memory of Jane Clough who was killed by her ex-partner in 2010. It is the first of its kind in the North and offers safe and secure temporary accommodation for women and children at risk of domestic abuse who also have additional complex needs.

Registration is £25 and fundraisers are asked to raise a minimum of £250. Please note you must be over 16 to take part. To take part in Turf Sleepout, register here.
