The Clarets' Under-18s start their second season in the Professional Development League against defending champions Charlton Athletic tomorrow morning (Saturday).
After a strong pre-season for the youngsters, the confidence round the camp is certainly flowing.
Danny Cadamarteri's men have picked up a couple of wins against first team oppostition in Padiham and Armthorpe Welfare aswell as competing in a tournament at St. Georges Park where the youngsters finsihed third.
The Clarets are raring to go now and get the ball rolling.
Assistant coach John Townson said "As much as pre-season is necessary and we have had a positive one, nothing beats the real thing. We have done the analysis on Charlton and they look like a good passing side who want to build from the back so it will be very important we are on our game and bring a desire and intenisty to press".
Townson also told the club's website "We have had a good week's training, done the prep and now its time for the talking to stop and go out and there and deliver a performance and make them leave knowing they have been in a game".
Cadamarteri has also handed the honour of the captain's armband to 2nd year scholar Michael Fowler.
The striker said "Its a great feeling really, it doesnt change who i am or how the lads see me but i think i am quite vocal on and off the pitch and always try make sure i do things right on and off the pitch, i just hope the lads do aswell and i feel like i help the others out when needed"
The game kicks off at 11:00am at the Barnfield Training Centre.
