Clarets Look To Keep Climbing

U23s start end-of-season road trip at Barnsley

20 April 2018

The Clarets hit the road for the first of three away games in eight days to end their Professional Development League campaign.

Michael Duff’s side starts their road trip with a visit to South Yorkshire on Friday afternoon to face Barnsley at Oakwell (KO 1pm).

Burnley lifted themselves above the Tykes and off the foot of the league’s northern section with a 2-0 win over Coventry City on Monday.

At the same time, Barnsley – coached by ex-Scunthorpe and Macclesfield Town midfielder Paul Harsley – were held to a 1-1 draw by Cardiff City as their winless run extended to 10 games.

The Clarets have won five of their last nine matches and will be looking to keep climbing with trips to Millwall next Monday and Sheffield Wednesday next Friday to end their season.

The West Stand at Oakwell is open for this afternoon’s game with Barnsley advertising admission as free.
