Burnley FC’s Youth Board held their first meeting at Turf Moor earlier this week.
After a summer recruitment process, the ten youngsters from across the local area, aged between 14-18 years of age, met at the stadium and were greeted by Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Burnley FC in the Community and members of BFCitC’s management team who will provide support to enable the group to establish itself over the coming months.
The Burnley FC Youth Board is a brand-new initiative that aims to give a voice to local young people and allow them the opportunity to contribute and recommend improvements to the club. Burnley FC believe the club’s young fans are its future and their voice is valuable, important and must be heard.
The Burnley FC Youth Board will meet quarterly at Turf Moor and will be empowered to come to the meetings with their own ideas on how to improve operations at the club and its engagement with the community.
A Chair and Vice-Chair will be elected by the group at the next meeting and the Youth Board will also be hosted in hospitality at the Clarets’ upcoming fixture against West Ham in October.
The members of the Burnley FC Youth Board are: Amber Day (14), Harry Bennett-Courland (14), Elle Goss (14), Tom Kippax (14), Declan Green (14), Robert Halshaw (15), Sanah Rashid (15), Layton Marsden (15), Emily Shameti (16) and Robbie Thomas (18).
