Burnley then go to Swansea City’s Landore training ground on Monday, 4 December (KO 1pm) before starting the return fixtures.

Newcastle visit on Thursday, 18 January with the game currently scheduled for Stockport County’s Edgeley Park (KO 2pm).

Duff’s side travels to Essex to face Colchester at their Weston Homes Community Stadium on Friday, 9 February (KO 7pm) and finish with a home game against Swansea at Curzon Ashton on Monday, 26 February (KO 2pm).

The top two sides from the group will progress to the knock-out rounds in the last 16.

The scheduling of the PL Cup ties means a couple of Professional Development League fixtures have been re-arranged.

The Clarets’ home game against Barnsley will now be played on Thursday, 16 November at Curzon Ashton (KO 7pm).

And the home fixture against Birmingham has been pushed back three days and will be played on Thursday, 15 February at the Barnfield Training Centre (KO 12 noon).

The Clarets’ league fixture at Sheffield United scheduled for 22 January is subject to change due to the Blades PL Cup commitments.

Meanwhile, the U18s will play away at Blackpool in the quarter-finals of the Lancashire FA Youth Professional Cup on a date to be confirmed.
