Dev Squad Looks To Tame Tigers

Under-23s kick off busy week with trip to take on Hull City

25 September 2017

The Clarets’ Development Squad heads to Humberside tonight to kick off a busy week of league and cup action.

Michael Duff’s side faces Hull City in the U23 Professional Development League at North Ferriby United’s Grange Lane ground (kick-off 7pm).

And on Friday afternoon, they then launch their Premier League Cup bid with an opening group game against Newcastle United at the home of the Northumberland FA.

Burnley are yet to win away this season and are looking to bounce back from last week’s 4-0 home defeat to a strong Cardiff side.

Duff will again select from a largely youthful squad, including a number of players from the under-18s, to face a Hull side which has recovered from a poor start to the season to win their last two games as part of a three-match unbeaten run.

The Tigers face Preston North End at home in the Championship on Tuesday night, which is likely to impact on their selection.
