Clarets And Blues For U23s

Michael Duff's side faces Birmingham as busy schedule continues

9 November 2017

The Clarets’ Under-23s are back in action this afternoon (Friday) with a trip to face Birmingham City at the Blues’ Wast Hills training ground (kick-off 1pm).

Michael Duff’s side will be looking to build on Monday’s 3-3 draw against Huddersfield Town when they twice came from behind at Turf Moor to earn a point.

The Clarets aren’t expected to travel with any senior players as they continue a busy schedule which sees them play six times in four weeks.

“It’s hard work. But if you want to be a footballer that’s a given,” said Duff.

“And to be fair they have delivered that. The physical levels looked really good at the end against Huddersfield. That is a pleasing aspect.”

Burnley remain bottom of the Professional Development League’s northern section, while Birmingham are sixth after four wins from their opening 10 games.

The Blues have won their last two games, beating Middlesbrough in the Premier League Cup and Leeds United – both 3-1 – following a run of three successive league defeats.
