Award Brings £1,250 For Kids' Charity

26 June 2017

A unique piece of Clarets’ memorabilia has raised a magnificent £1,250 for charity, following an auction.

Sean Dyche made available the League Managers’ Association Performance of the Week Award he won in March, 2015, after guiding the Clarets to victory over Premier League champions Manchester City.

The award went to the Burnley boss after George Boyd struck a memorable winner against City to secure a 1-0 victory over the defending champions at Turf Moor.

The winning bid came from Simon Dowling from Jersey, who, along with son Henry, will travel to meet the gaffer next month at the Barnfield Training Centre and be personally presented with the glass award.

Simon and Henry will also be able to watch the first-team squad training and enjoy lunch at the training ground.

All proceeds from the auction will go to children’s medical research charity Sparks – which is personally supported by the Burnley manager.

Our thanks to everyone who bid for the award.
