Burnley 10k 2017: join our team – it’s free to register with us!

22 February 2017

On Sunday 4th June the Asda Foundation Burnley 10k is back in town and we’re encouraging you to grab your trainers and join our team!

The scenic 10k route begins and finishes in Towneley Park, in the shadow of the majestic Towneley Hall, the jewel in Burnley’s historic crown. Passing the famous Turf Moor stadium and following picturesque paths taking in the beautiful Boating Lake and Italian Gardens, runners can enjoy all the sights before triumphantly crossing the finish line to cheers from the crowds. It’s safe to say this local event has plenty of community spirit!

Burnley FC in the Community are delighted to be involved in the Burnley 10k again this year and we have a limited number of charity places available in the event. There is no registration fee and we are offering the places in return for in a minimum sponsorship amount of £120.

As a member of Team Burnley FC in the Community runners will receive a fundraising pack, fundraising support and a free Burnley FC in the Community t-shirt to wear for the run. We will also be there on the day to welcome runners to our charity marquee both before and after the run.

All funds raised by Team Burnley FC in the Community will help us to support the work we are carrying out daily in the local community, with every penny raised going towards developing new opportunities for those who need it most. Our wide range of programmes touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley; from children and young people, right through to senior citizens.

Siobhan McNamara, Marketing and Partnerships Manager at Burnley FC in the Community said: “ I’d encourage everyone, no matter their ability to join our team at this year’s run. Whether you choose to run the route or take it at an easy walking pace, the mood is fantastic, our team is so supportive and the whole town really does turn out to support those taking part! Every penny raised from our team will go to supporting our charitable work in the local area, including our disability sport provision, our activities for the over 50s and our social inclusion work with our young people. So, why not set yourself a personal challenge whilst doing something amazing for your local community and join team BFCitC!”

As the official charity of Burnley Football Club we’re proud to be involved in this brilliant local event, join our team and help us turn the streets of Burnley claret on the day!
