With a busy festive period just around the corner, Ben Mee is relishing the chance of welcoming the big hitters to Turf Moor over the next couple of weeks.
The Clarets defender and stand-in skipper knows the squad will be put even further through their paces as they head into the Christmas and New Year schedule looking to build on impressive foundations laid so far this season.
Tottenham Hotspur, sitting one point and one spot below Burnley in the table, arrive at Turf Moor this weekend at the start of a run of four home games against the division’s big-hitters.

Liverpool arrive on New Year’s Day, followed by Manchester United in mid-January and runaway league leaders Manchester City in early February.
The Clarets also travel to face Manchester United on Boxing Day and Mee admitted: “There are some tough games coming up but it will be nice to get a few of the big teams at our place and see where we can challenge them.
“It’s an exciting time over Christmas, there are lots of games and fans love it. I personally enjoy it as well, and I’m sure all the lads do. It’s a great time to be a professional footballer, that’s for sure.”
Mee has been one of many standout performers for the club in a busy year, making 33 Premier League appearances.
And the current skipper, who has stepped in for absentee Tom Heaton, has expressed the importance of remaining focused over a vital period.
The Sale-born defender added: “We have to prepare for these games but enjoy the feel at the same time.
“We’re moving forward in a really good direction and want to create a really good thing here at our club.”
