The Clarets’ U23 Professional Development League game against Hull City at the Tameside Stadium was abandoned after 34 minutes due to fog.
Burnley were leading 1-0 at the time through a Rahis Nabi goal in the eighth minute.
Referee Leigh Doughty consulted with fourth official Darren Handly a couple of times as conditions at the Greater Manchester ground deteriorated and visibility worsened.

And after speaking to rival managers Michael Duff and Jon Beale, he called things off 11 minutes before the break.
Clarets boss Duff was disappointed his side didn’t get the chance to build on their lead in a first game since 20 November, but had no complaints about the decision.
“I don’t think it’s going anywhere,” said Duff.
“The referee’s given it a chance. He’s given it a go. From what you could see the lads did okay, winning the game 1-0.
“It’s just disappointing because we’ve waited a long time for a game. It’s been almost a month since we’ve played and you get that and then it’s another two or three weeks before the next game.
“But there’s not a lot you can do about the weather.”
The Clarets are next in action on 5 January with a trip to Leeds United, with details about a new date for the Hull game to be announced in due course.
