Brady and Dyche Land Double Nomination

Boss and winger short-listed for awards after bumper November for Clarets

6 December 2017

Sean Dyche has been nominated for November’s Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month award.

And in a notable double for the Clarets, Robbie Brady has also been short-listed for the EA Sports player award.

Dyche faces competition from Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte of Chelsea, Arsene Wenger of Arsenal and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp.

Brady, meanwhile, is nominated alongside Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, City winger Raheem Sterling, Chelsea play-maker Eden Hazard, Liverpool goalscorer Mohamed Salah, Manchester United wideman Ashley Young and Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi.

The awards will be determined by a public vote, with details below.

The nominations following an outstanding month for Dyche’s side, which secured three wins in four games – including two away from home.

The only defeat came against Arsenal, an injury-time loss to a debated penalty at Turf Moor.

During November, the Clarets beat Swansea City at home and won at Southampton and Bournemouth to end the month seventh in the Premier League table.

They also set new landmarks with the 2-1 win at Bournemouth – sealed by a goal from Brady – giving the Clarets a fourth away win in the top flight for the first time since the 1974/75 season.

And the total of 14 points accrued away from Turf Moor this season already equals the best away points’ tally achieved by Burnley in the Premier League era.

Brady, sadly now sidelined with a long-term knee injury sustained at Leicester City last weekend, played every minute of the Clarets’ games in November and filled a key role in sustaining Burnley’s best start to a top-flight season since 1973/74.

The winger, 25, produced some of his best form in a Burnley shirt as he opened his Premier League goal account for the season and created crucial goals for Jack Cork and Chris Wood to help contribute six points to the Clarets’ impressive tally of 25.
