Norwich City U-23s 2 Burnley Dev Squad 2

Second-half fightback keeps Clarets unbeaten

7 August 2017

The Clarets’ Development Squad ended their training trip to East Anglia with an impressive comeback at Norwich City to earn a 2-2 draw.

Michael Duff’s side was outplayed in the opening 45 minutes at the Canaries’ Colney training centre and trailed 2-0 at the break.

But Duff was pleased with the second-half performance which saw the Clarets press the home side – who play at the second tier of Premier League 2 - and score twice in a 20-minute spell to maintain their unbeaten pre-season record.

Ollie Younger (above) headed the first from a Mark Howarth corner after an hour.

And substitute Tommy Wood then got the goal his second-half efforts merited when he converted a cross from fellow third-year scholar Tinashe Chakwana.

The Clarets kick-off their first season in the Professional Development League with a trip to Crystal Palace on Monday, 14 August.

Burnley: Bruce, Hendrie, Koiki, Howarth, Wilson, Younger, Chakwana, Howarth, Metz, Limb, McNeil. Subs: King, Nabi, J Thomas, B Thomas, Wood, Leitch, Flowers.
