Following the Loan Trail

Keeping up with the young Clarets gaining experience out on loan

17 August 2017

The Clarets currently have eight players out on loan at various stages of their Turf Moor careers as they look to add to their first-team CVs.

Connor Mitchell:

The goalkeeper has played an important part in Chester’s undefeated start to the season in the National League, starting in all three of their games so far.

Jimmy Dunne:

The Development Squad defender has been an ever-present figure in Barrow’s back line, starting all four of the Bluebirds’ games in the National League. He has helped keep two clean sheets so far this season but was sent off in a 3-3 draw against Solihull Moors on Tuesday night.

Alex Whitmore:

The central defender made an impressive debut for Bury in their EFL Cup defeat against Sunderland. He is still waiting for his bow in League One, after being an unused substitute in Bury’s league games so far.

Brad Jackson:

The Development Squad winger has been a regular in Southport’s impressive start to the season. The Sandgrounders are currently fourth in the National League North.

Aiden O’Neill (Pictured):

The Australian midfielder, 19, has contributed to Fleetwood’s impressive start to the League One campaign. He laid on their winning goal against Northampton last Saturday with a well-executed pass to Devante Cole to seal a second win for the Cod Army.

Josh Ginnelly:

The former Shrewsbury Town winger, 20, has been a pivotal figure for Lincoln City in his second spell at Sincil Bank, scoring the equaliser against Wycombe on the Imps’ return to the Football League.

Ntumba Massanka:

The striker, 20, has appeared in all four of Wrexham’s National League games this season after returning for a second spell at the Racecourse Ground, scoring a winner against Maidenhead.

Chris Long:

The former Everton striker has made three appearances for Northampton Town this season and will be looking to get the Cobblers first goal of the campaign at Charlton on Saturday.
