JON Walters is in line for his 50th international cap as one of five Burnley players included in the provisional Republic of Ireland squad for the crucial upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Serbia.
The summer signing from Stoke City, who made his competitive Clarets debut in the Premier League victory over champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, is joined in the Ireland squad by Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick, Stephen Ward and Kevin Long.
Ward, in particular, will be looking to continue his impressive start to the season after his goal against Chelsea.
Long has built on his promising international debut at the end of last season to earn a place in the provisional squad once again.
Should he be given another chance, he will be looking to impress ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Russia.
Ireland, who currently lie second in the qualifying group, behind Serbia on goal difference, travel to Georgia on Saturday, September 2, then host the leaders in Dublin on Tuesday, September 5.
