Community’s Inaugural Charity Dinner Raises Over £25k

Burnley FC in the Community’s first ever Charity Dinner took place at the Fence Gate Inn, Fence on Friday 31st March and the event was attended by over 200 guests, including Burnley FC Manager, Sean Dyche.

Though the final total is yet to be confirmed, the charity are delighted to announce that over £25k was raised to support Burnley FC in the Community's work in East Lancashire.

As well as a lavish three-course meal, a Q&A with Burnley FC manager, Sean Dyche, and entertainment provided by local band, Soul Train; guests also enjoyed a lively auction that included unique prizes such as a Burnley FC shirt, personalised by the Gaffer on the night.

All funds raised from Friday’s Charity Dinner will go to supporting the vital work Burnley FC in the Community is carrying out every day in the local area.

Using the power and inspirational status of Burnley FC, the club’s official charity now deliver community projects to over 20,000 people every year across the region

Through the work of Burnley FC in the Community, 687 disadvantaged young people now take part in Kicks every week, 801 participants benefit from disability sport sessions every week, 357 young people have completed NCS and 93 over 50s enjoy social activities with the charity on a weekly basis.

Guests at the event received a first-hand account of the impact of the charity's work, as three young participants were interviewed about how their lives have changed after getting involved with Burnley FC in the Community

They spoke openly and insightfully about how working with the charity has offered new opportunities, lifted their confidence and self-esteem and helped each one of them to make new friends.

Burnley FC in the Community’s CEO, Neil Hart, said: “I would like to extend my thanks to each and every person who supported our inaugural Charity Dinner, from the manager and Club Directors to our trustees, partners and funders.

All the funds raised from the evening will go towards supporting our charitable work in the local area – work that really is creating positive change for so many people."
