Despite Burnley's dominant display, Michael Duff's Youth side fell to a defeat for the first time in the league after losing 2-1 away to Accrington.
Scott Wilson the scorer for the Clarets, who fell to a late winner as their four-game unbeaten run came to an end.
It was the home side who started the game well when Luke Moran was through on goal. However, an excellent stop from Oliver Younger denied the striker to put a shot on goal.
Accrington then took the lead from a corner as the ball wasn't cleared and fell to the feet of Jack Burgess, who had a simple task to smash the ball home.
Burnley began to look promising going forward and it looked as if the Clarets had replied when RJ Pingling found Tinashe Chakwana in the box, only for the striker’s effort to roll agonisingly past the post.
The Clarets were then inches away from drawing level as Dwight McNeil broke down the wing before finding Chakwana in the box, who laid off a pass to Pingling for a shot that was cleared off the line.
Stanley came out after the break looking to double their advantage – and almost doubled their lead when an inswinging free kick was cleared out from the front post by Wilson.
It was then Wilson’s turn at the other end of the field to get in on the attacking play, and when Tyler Shrimpton's free kick was whipped in, he rose highest and fire a bullet header into the back of the net to draw things level.
However with minutes to go Accrington pushed for the winner and Burnley couldn't get the ball away before it finally fell to Joe Rathbone, who fired past a stranded Connor King to win it..
