Dafabet have shown their charitable side by playing a major part in the 5k FundRun taking place in Towneley Park in Burnley this Sunday.
The club’s principal sponsor are generously giving a significant sum to sponsor a four-strong club team taking part in the run, along with club director John Banaskiewicz and mascot Bertie Bee.
Sean Dyche is on his marks along with Head of CARES, Andy Voss
John is specifically running the inaugural event for CARES (Cancer Assessment Rapid Early Support); the charity he has founded.
CARES is a newly registered charity that has been established to support early assessment and diagnosis of cancer in East Lancashire.
All funds from the FundRun will be split equally between CARES and Cancer Research UK, with all money remaining in the region.
The 5k FundRun starts at 11am on Sunday and it’s not too late to take part!
Runners will be accepted on the day, with registration starting from 10am. Cost is £12 per person.
The FundRun has already received significant support from the general public, with hundreds of runners set to take part in the gentle circuit around Towneley Park.
Anthony Fairclough, Head of Commercial Affairs at Burnley FC said: “It’s a fantastic gesture from our shirt sponsors and is a great demonstration of their investment not just in Burnley Football Club in the Premier League, but to our community and town.
“I would personally like to thank Dafabet for this sponsorship and it will see some tangible prevention of cancer in our local area.
“I would also like to thank all the people who have pledged to run or walk for their own causes and stories. We should raise well over £20,000 on Sunday and for those who haven’t yet pledged, there is still time”.
