With the help of principal sponsors Dafabet, the four-strong team were among hundreds of runners taking part in the 5km run in Towneley Park on Sunday morning.

Groundsman Barry O'Brien, who will shortly take part on the Chaicago marathon, came second to Jonathan Pie in the race, which was organised by Clarets Director John Banaszkiewicz to raise money for local cancer charities.

John and club mascot Bertie Bee were also among the runners, which will see the £20,000 raised on the day split between CARES (Cancer Assessment Rapid Early Support and Cancer Research UK.
