Burnley 2-0 Wolverhampton
Saturday, 3rd November, 2012
Exactly four years ago, Sean Dyche won his first Burnley match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Turf Moor.
Thanks to goals from Martin Paterson and Charlie Austin the Clarets boss started his reign with a well-deserved win in front of the home crowd.
Martin Paterson started the day with an 18th minute strike, Dean Marney came close to doubling the lead just before half time.
Charlie Austin scored his 19th goal of that season doing what he does best, he found space in the box and headed the ball past the Wolves keeper to give the Clarets a bit of breathing room.
Wolves threatened when Bakary Sako struck the post but Burnley managed to see out the game at 2-0.
This was Burnley’s second consecutive home clean sheet which would have given Dyche hope of curing the Claret’s leaky defence.
