Burnley FC’s Michael Keane and Steven Defour were on hand yesterday afternoon to bring a little star power to Community’s half term Soccer Schools.
Making simultaneous visits to both the Pendle and Rossendale sessions, the players enjoyed a kickabout in the autumn sunshine with 80 young participants who are currently taking part in a week of comprehensive football coaching from Community staff.
Held during every school holiday, the increasingly popular Soccer Schools aim to keep children active and engaged during the break, as well as develop their intrinsic knowledge of teamwork, sportsmanship and friendship.
Matt Pounder, Head of Sport said: “Our Soccer Schools are for children who love football and for many of them, players like Michael Keane and Steven Defour are heroes – a real source of inspiration! We’re extremely grateful that the Burnley FC players often take time out of their busy schedules to support us as a charity.”
All the profits raised from Burnley FC in the Community’s Soccer Schools will go to supporting our charitable work across the region. To find out more about the great work we’re doing to inspire, support and deliver change in our communities, please visit www.burnleyfccommunity.org.
