International Clarets

27 May 2016

Tom Heaton could be in action tonight as England face Australia at Sunderland's Stadium of Light (7.45pm kick-off).

Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has already confirmed that Fraser Forster will start in goal against the Socceroos in a game that is likely to see experimentation ahead of the final friendly with Portugal at Wembley Stadium.

Tonight marks the 7th meeting with Australia and the first since a 3-1 defeat in 2003 at Upton Park, when Francis Jeffers was on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Stephen Ward is in the Republic of Ireland squad to face the Netherlands this evening at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin (7.45pm kick-off).

Martin O'Neill has healthy competition but his 35-man party will be cut to 23 after their final warm-up match against Belarus on Tuesday night.

Clarets defender Daniel Lafferty could also feature as Northern Ireland face Belarus in their last home friendly before heading to France.

Michael O'Neill will announce his 23-man squad on Saturday, meaning the Windsor Park clash presents one final opportunity to stake a claim for the finals.
