Burnley boss Sean Dyche insists winning the Championship title would be the icing on the cake.
The Clarets heads to Charlton Athletic tomorrow lunchtime knowing three points would crown them as Football League champions.
A draw between rivals Middlesbrough and Brighton would also be enough, whatever Burnley’s result at The Valley.
But with glory – and a post-war record of 23 games unbeaten within their grasp – Dyche admits his players are ready to go again.
He admitted: “The last few days have been a bit of a blur.
“Promotion is the main thing and we’ve done that. Now the icing on the cake would be to win it.
“As a business, and as a club, the promotion is the major thing.
“But from the playing side you always want to achieve and win, so to win the title would be fantastic.
“We made a real show of chasing Leicester down two years ago and just couldn’t catch them as they had an unbelievable season.
“This season we have put ourselves on top in a very strong manner. Now we want to take it all the way and have that marvellous achievement of winning the title. “
