Dyche Hails Premier Achievement

2 May 2016

Sean Dyche hailed the Clarets promotion back to the Premier League as a greater achievement than two years ago.

The Clarets roared back to the top flight following a hard-fought 1-0 win over QPR at Turf Moor.

And Dyche insisted the challenge now was to lift the Football league Championship trophy, won by the Clarets on this very day 56 years ago!

The gaffer said: “I think this is a better achievement than last time.

“Last time we were on the crest of a wave, but this time we’ve had different expectations and a different level of challenge.

“The crowd were more nervy and edgy and to get that over the line with a fantastic staff, and group of players, I couldn’t be more proud.

“We lost three very important players last time out and we had to design this, make good signings and mould them to knowing how we operate and take that forward.

“We still worked diligently off the pitch, with the business side of things, which I am so pleased about.

“We managed to balance the books and when you look around in the Championship, with all the money being spent everywhere, we actually brought as much money in as we spent.

“There have been so many good things this season and people forget we’re nearly half a season unbeaten, finishing in promotion for this club. I’m not sure it will be done again!

“It’s an absolutely massive achievement. I’ve been building this all season. It’s been by design and you have all the ups and downs and all the knocks, but you have to process all that and staying firm and solid to your beliefs.

“For me it will be a calm couple of days now, but I can assure everyone there is a warm inner glow!”

Dyche added: “We will be going for the title now, make no mistake.

“The lads will enjoy the moment and go out and have a few drinks, but Thursday we will come back in and we will be ready. I’ve explained that

“Two years ago we were runners-up. Now we have a chance to get our hands on that trophy, so we will be going hard for it.”
