The 18-year-old, who was named man of the match, picked up the ball inside his own half before leaving Shots’ defenders trailing in his wake and finishing low beyond keeper Phil Smith.

There was also delight for young defender Alex Whitmore as he netted the winner for Gateshead in their 1-0 win over Welling United.

Daniel Johnson flicked on Paddy McLaughlin’s free-kick and Whitmore’s headed home from close range as they kept themselves within sight of the Play-Offs.

Elsewhere, defender Tom Anderson played the full 90 minutes for Chesterfield as they drew 1-1 against Scunthorpe United.

Northern Ireland U21 international defender Luke Conlan completed 85 minutes of Morecambe’s 1-0 away defeat to Leyton Orient before being Aaron Wildig.

Luke Hendrie didn’t feature for York City as a late Jake Reeves strike broke Minstermen hearts in a 2-1 defeat to AFC Wimbledon.

Cameron Dummigan was not involved as Oldham Athletic lost 3-2 at home to ten-man Rochdale in Sky Bet League One.
