He told Sky Sports: “There are many different ways to win football match and I think you have to give Blackburn an awful lot of credit.
“Since Paul Lambert has come in they seem to have turned a corner and they made life very difficult for us.
“It’s important for the fans and the bragging rights. But for us, in the build-up to it all, it’s just been about another team in our way.
“We set our sights early on in the season and what we want to achieve and obviously we needed to get three points at Turf Moor today in order to keep on track.”
