Burnley FC in the Community have been delighted with the response to their Walking Football since its launch just over two weeks ago. They've seen men and women of all ages and levels of fitness come along to the session to take part in the slower paced version of the beautiful game!
The sessions, which have taken place across four venues in the area, have included drills, rule run-throughs and mini-games for players to get used to the alternative pace. The game is a fantastic way to return to the sport and improve general fitness as it lowers the intensity, but still provides a great cardiovascular workout.
There is NO CHARGE to play Walking Football with them and there will be the chance to play in tournaments and leagues for those who want to get competitive! However, if you prefer to play just for fun, you can drop in to any of the sessions in Burnley, Todmorden, Pendle or Nelson.
Burnley FC in the Community will also be launching a new session on a Monday 11-12pm from the 9th of May at Turf Moor, due to the success of the venue.
If you’d like to try Walking Football at any of the four venues below, just contact Abby Turner, Health and Wellbeing Manager, to register, on 01282 704716 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
