GLASGOW RANGERS WEEKENDBurnley Football Supporters Club is running a three day trip to Glasgow, to coincide with the Clarets friendly against Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday, 30th July.
The trip will take place on the 29th, returning on 31st July.
The pre-season friendly in Scotland will be the last before the Clarets return to Turf Moor, for their final preparations for the new Premier League season.
The Itinerary is below, and in the first instance fans are asked to call Joyce on 07990 874695 to check availability.
Friday 29th July
10.00am Departure from outside Turf Moor, Burnley for the outward journey to Troon, Scotland stopping for lunch on route at Moffatt before arriving at our overnight location - the Marine Hotel in Troon, late afternoon. This stunning 4 star hotel overlooks the 18th hole at Royal Troon Golf Course home for this year’s British Open in July, with wonderful views across this famous links course. Built from local stone and featuring extensive wood panelling inside the public rooms this is a fine example of Scottish accommodation at its best. The hotel has a spa and swimming pool with a fully equipped gymnasium for guests use. There is also a residents bar where bar meals can be purchased or a dining room overlooking the golf course offering a 3 course dinner (optional) and of course a hearty Scottish breakfast each morning of our stay.
It is proposed to offer a return transfer in to Troon on Friday evening, as the hotel is located on the outskirts of town, for those wanting to venture in to town, rather than making use of the hotel facilities.
Saturday, 30th July
After breakfast in the hotel and some leisure time during the morning our plan is to depart for Glasgow around lunch time for this afternoon’s friendly against Rangers. After the game we will return to the hotel with the opportunity once again to go in to Troon on the coach during our second night’s stay for those who wish to do so.
Sunday, 31st July
We will take our leave of Troon after breakfast and commence the homeward journey South breaking the journey at Keswick in the Lake District for the afternoon. The centre of this Lakeland town is very compact allowing for easy exploration on foot of the various hostelries or shops while also offering the chance for a sail on Derwentwater, to take in the magnificent scenery of the surrounding Lakeland fells.
Our weekend will end with an arrival back in Burnley around 20.30 on Sunday evening.
Based on twin / double room sharing the cost of the weekend per person is £190 (bed and breakfast basis). Single room supplement is £50 for those requiring this room option.
Pleasecall Joyce on 07990 874695 to check availability.
