Loan Watch

18 January 2016

Striker Ntumba Massanka made his Football League debut for York City in their 1-0 defeat to Newport County in Sky Bet League Two.

The 19-year-old replaced Danny Galbraith on 56 minutes but was unable to force an equaliser as Jackie McNamara’s side fell to Aaron Collins early strike.

Full-back Luke Hendrie completed the full 90 minutes for the Minstermen in his first appearance since joining on loan.

In League One, there was disappointment for Cameron Dummigan and Danny Lafferty as Oldham fell to a 1-0 defeat away at Bradford City.

Dummigan started and played 25 minutes before being replaced with an injury, with compatriot Lafferty completing the full 90 minutes.

The Latics, who recently appointed John Sheridan as their new manager after parting company with David Dunn, saw Connor Brown sent off after 41 minutes.

Elsewhere, Kevin Long was on the winning side as Barnsley beat Shrewsbury Town 3-0 at Greenhous Meadow.

Long played the full 90 minutes as a Sam Winnall brace and a goal from Alfie Mawson secured the points. Goalkeeper Adam Davies also saved a penalty to preserve the clean sheet.

Jason Gilchrist came on to net the fourth goal of the afternoon for Chester as they booked their place in the FA Trophy third round with a 4-0 win over Hungerford Town.

Finally, defender Alex Whitmore completed the full 90 minutes as Gateshead also progressed in the FA Trophy with a 2-1 away win at Eastleigh.

Conor Mitchell and Josh Ginnelly will have to wait for their debuts for Bradford Park Avenue and Altrincham respectively.

Bradford Park Avenue’s fixture against Nantwich was postponed, while Ginnelly was not signed in time to be selected for Altrincham’s 2-1 win over Leamington.
