The Development Squad mirrored the first team’s five-goal haul on Tuesday, beating Loughborough University 5-1 in a training match.
A trialist caught the eye with a hat-trick for the Clarets, with Josh Dolling and Renny Smith completing the rout.
And with winger Christian Hill making his first appearance this season, after sustaining a groin injury at the end of the 2014/15 campaign, it was day full of positives for the club’s youngsters.
It took Burnley just three minutes to take the lead, when the trialist rounded the goalkeeper before coolly scoring from a narrow angle.
Youth Team striker Dolling doubled Burnley’s advantage on the quarter hour mark, after a dominant opening period from the visitors.
And it was three in the 30th minute, when former Arsenal midfielder Smith was on the end of a Brad Jackson cut-back to put Burnley firmly in the ascendancy.
Burnley’s trialist doubled his tally on the stroke of half time, bringing about a trio of changes at half time.
Tyler Shrimpton replaced the returning Hill, while Dolling made way for Youth Team team-mate Khius Metz and a second trialist came on for right-back Arlen Birch.
After such a dominant first half, the second was a more even affair, with a few Burnley chances going amiss before the trialist finally completed his hat-trick 10 minutes before time.
The hosts were gifted a rare opportunity five minutes later from the penalty spot, but a wonderful save to his left from Danijel Nizic kept the arrears to five.
However, with the final kick of the game Loughborough did pull one back in what was little more than a consolation.
Burnley: Nizic; Birch (Trialist 46), Hobson, Norvock, Hill (Shrimpton 46); Jackson, Wilson, O’Neill, Smith; Trialist, Dolling (Metz 46).
