Matt Gilks recently paid a visit to the health-conscious pupils of Burnley Lowerhouse Junior School for a fascinating Q&A session.
Supporting Burnley FC in the Community’s Schools Healthy Eating Programme, Gilks was on hand to answer the pupil’s burning questions about the topic of health and healthy-eating.
Pupils at Lowerhouse Junior School have been enjoying the Schools Healthy Eating Programme since January; a programme delivered by Burnley FC’s official charity that aims to teach young children about the importance of healthy eating.
Over the course of six weeks, the health team at Burnley FC in the Community teach pupils about the importance of eating breakfast, as well as focusing on the different food groups and the topics of sugar and hydration.
Abby Turner, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Burnley FC in the Community said; “It was great to have Matt Gilks down to support our Schools Healthy Eating Project.
“It’s vitally important that children learn the importance of healthy eating from an early age and it was very inspiring for them to be able to ask health-related questions to one of their Burnley heroes.”
