Rouwen Hennings has today joined Bundesliga 2 side Fortuna Dusseldorf on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old German forward made 27 appearances for the Clarets in the 2015/16, including two goals against Cardiff City and Middlesbrough.
Dusseldorf maintained their Bundesliga 2 status last season with a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig.
They currently sit fourth in the division after a 2-2 draw with SV Sandhausen and a 1-0 home victory over Stuttgart.
Most recently, two goals from Marcel Sobottka helped to secure a 3-0 victory over Hansa Rostock in the German Cup.
Hennings boasts an impressive record in Bundesliga 2 after netting 18 times in 29 games to finish as top scorer for former club Karlsruhe in the 2014/15 campaign.
