Tom Heaton has been named in Sam Allardyce’s first England squad ahead of the Three Lions’ opening 2018 World Cup Qualifier.
The players will report to St George’s Park this week before heading out to face Slovakia on Sunday 4 September in Group F at the City Arena, Trnava.
Clarets skipper Heaton earned his first cap during the 2-1 friendly win over Australia back in May at the Stadium of Light and, in doing so, became the first Burnley player to play for England since 1974.
