Burnley Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan on a season-long loan.
The versatile full-back, 23, is one of the most promising talents to emerge from the Reds’ Academy in recent years.
He made his Liverpool debut aged just 18, and by 2011 had earned call-ups to the England U19s and U21s.
By the end of the 2013-14 campaign, following more eye-catching appearances, Flanagan was named a standby for England's World Cup squad, and earned a first international cap in a friendly against Ecuador.
Flanagan's incredible rise was halted when he suffered a knee injury the following season.
And after penning a contract extension at Anfield in May 2015, he returned to the Reds’ side for the second half of the 2015/16 season.
Flanagan becomes the Clarets third summer signing and adds strength to the defensive positions ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
