Heaton: I Love Playing For Dyche

30 October 2015

Tom Heaton has reserved praise for Sean Dyche ahead of this weekend’s meeting with Huddersfield Town.

The Clarets boss celebrates three years since his arrival in East Lancashire today and brought the club captain to Turf Moor in July 2013.

Since then, Heaton has played all 97 league games and kept 33 clean sheets and says that he ‘thoroughly loves’ playing for a man he feels has helped move the club forward during his tenure.

“It’s a great milestone for him and he’s been absolutely fantastic for this football club.

“For the majority of the players in the dressing room they’d all say the same thing that he’s been great for them.

“I feel that way and I can’t thank him enough. I thoroughly love playing for him and I hope that can continue for a long, long time.

“I think the evolution of the club has been a real positive one. The infrastructure of the club has been looked at as well as the team and the squad.

“It’s a real club to be reckoned with and a lot of credit goes to him and his staff for that. The important thing is we keep moving that forward.”

Huddersfield Town are the opponents in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend and buoyed by an East Lancashire derby victory, the Clarets are looking to make it four wins out of five in the month of October.

Burnley currently occupy 3rd spot in the Championship but Heaton insists that they will always remain focused on what is straight in front of them.

He added: “I think we know we’re at the right end of the table and where we want to be.

“The important thing at the minute is that we focus on what is right in front of us and keep putting the processes and performances in which will hopefully bring the results.

“We’re trying to amass as many points as possible and we’ll look at our position closer to the end of the season.

“Even then the important thing is focusing on what’s right in front of us. That’s a big feature here, yes we have three games in a week but all the focus is on Huddersfield.”
