Scott Arfield declared his matchwinner at Ewood Park as his best moment in football.
The Clarets wide man opened his account for the season with a goal of the season contender to seal a second successive win in rival territory.
The Scot beamed: “That was definitely my top moment in football and 100% that’s the best goal I’ve ever scored.
“There is so much emphasis on this game, from the moment I came here. It’s the main one for the fans, so to get the only goal in a 1-0 win was fantastic on a personal level, although the three points is the most important thing.”
Arfield, who celebrated his strike with an 80-yard sprint back towards the Burnley fans, added: “It’s just one of those things where you can’t contain yourself.
“I’ll take so much stick for that, but I don’t care. I just hope it goes on my stats!
“I genuinely didn’t know what I was doing though. I was in a bubble and was running hand-in-hand with Michael Duff for about three seconds. It’s bizarre!”
