Kevin Friend will referee Saturday’s Lancashire derby against Preston North End at Turf Moor (3pm kick-off).
The Leicestershire official has taken charge of 11 games so far in the 2015/16 campaign, issuing 37 yellow cards and four reds in the process.
It will be the second time he has officiated a game involving the Clarets this season, having been the man in the middle for the 1-1 draw against Leeds United on the opening day.
Three players were booked on that occasion, Scott Arfield and Michael Kightly for Burnley and Sol Bamba for the hosts.
Mr Friend will be assisted by Mr Andrew Halliday, Mr Mark Dwyer and Fourth Official David Webb.
