Burnley FC in the Community nominated at the Football for Good Awards

Burnley FC in the Community is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted for the Disability Rights Award at the upcoming Football for Good Awards in London, for the Danny Ings Disability Sports Project.

The project, which aims to empower disabled young people in and around Burnley, is one of only three projects in the running for the category at the prestigious national awards ceremony.

Other nominated projects include Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s ‘Charlton Upbeats’ project and City in the Community’s ‘One City Disability’ project.

Neil Hart, CEO of Burnley FC in the Community said; “As a charity, we are delighted to have been shortlisted for this fantastic category at the Football for Good Awards.

"We are extremely proud of the project and the work we do with disabled young people here in Burnley and the surrounding areas.

"It is a real testament to the work of the staff, the volunteers and of course Danny Ings himself that the project has been recognised in this way.”

Burnley FC in the Community is a self-financing, registered charity that currently delivers over 30 projects in Burnley and the surrounding areas.

Alongside this shortlisting at the Football for Good Awards, Burnley FC in the Community are also nominated for two awards at the upcoming Northwest Football Awards on Monday, 16th December.

The Football for Good Awards is at Old Billingsgate Vaults, London on Wednesday, 2nd December, 2015.
