Matt Taylor insists the Clarets will go for broke in their final three games.
Defeat at Hull City this weekend would condemn the Clarets to Championship football again next season.
Only victory, followed by six points at home to Stoke City and away at Aston Villa, would give Sean Dyche’s men the chance to remain in the top flight.
But Taylor, who had an unhappy return to former club West Ham United last weekend, insists Burnley will fight to the bitter end.
He said: “Saturday was difficult to take, but there’s three games left and we’ll continue to fight.
“That’s maybe the way things have been going, but we won’t feel sorry for ourselves. We’ll dust ourselves down and go again.
“We have three big games but we have to go and try to win all three. As a professional footballer you have pride, so we’ve got to go out there and give performances.”
A reminder that tickets for Saturday’s game at Hull City are sold out to visiting supporters.
