George Boyd picked up the big prize at Monday night’s glitzy event at Turf Moor but Burnley FC in the Community were also winners as the Club’s official charity raised over £2300 courtesy of a successful silent auction.
With unique prizes including signed shirts, a signed ball, a full set of signed match-day programmes and 2 hospitality weekend tickets to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Championship – there were some fantastic items up for grabs and some generous bids were placed.
The night’s winners were:
David Forrest – 2 x Platinum Hospitality Weekend Tickets to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Championship (donated by Steve Durkin and MG Motors)
Steve Hodgson – A framed Burnley FC commemorative 1914 FA Cup Winners shirt. Match worn by David Jones
John Steele – A full set of signed match day programmes from the 2014/2015 season in a presentation folder

All money raised from the auction will go to supporting the charity’s many projects and programmes that cover so many areas including sports participation, education, health, disability sport and social inclusion. As a registered charity, Burnley FC in the Community relies solely to fundraising, grants and sponsorship to do the work it does in the local area.
Neil Hart, Head of Community said, “As a charity, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who bid for the silent auction items. Every single penny will go to helping disadvantaged people in our local area.
"As a newly established department, it was the first time we have had a presence at the Player of the Year Awards - it was a fantastic night and we look forward to Burnley FC in the Community being a key part of this night for many years to come”.
